There are two pathways for an aspiring Actuary in the U.S.
The first is the Society of Actuaries (SOA) and the second is Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS). Each pathway has two exams in common, Probability (P) and Financial Mathematics (FM). There are 3-5 exams after P & FM more suited for the specialty of said pathway. There are many different ways to study for the Actuarial exams. Within the Actuarial Science major at UWM, there are even courses that cover the contents of the first few exams!
According to our polling within the club, our members utilize TIA and CA when studying for actuarial exams.
This program/website has video lessons and online forums for questions, along with practice problems, practice quizzes and practice exams.
Exam FM and P courses are free!
This program/website has video lessons as well as an online forum, quizzes, practice problems and mock exams as well! However CA has "earned scores" that are supposed to predict your score if you were to take the exam.
