About Us

New Life Volunteering Society (NLVS) is a secular 501(c)(3) nonprofit service organization that serves those in need through community service, education, and health care.

NLVS primarily targets its attention on the hungry, the homeless, those with mental and physical disabilities/impairments, and underprivileged children. NLVS makes efforts to provide a healthy and nurturing world for these individuals.

  • NLVS Free Tutoring

    Led by trained NLVS student volunteers, NLVS Tutoring is a free, evidence based, play-based, one-one tutoring program for K-12 students.

  • NLVS Free Clinic - North Chicago

    A medical facility that provides primary and secondary prevention of chronic medical conditions while also providing a setting for future healthcare professionals to learn and practice clinical skills.

  • Health Education Programs

    Preventative health guidance on nutrition, exercise, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, STIs, HIV/AIDS, Narcan, substance abuse, domestic violence, and more is delivered in a variety of settings, such as schools, shelters, and free clinics.

    Free and Local Screenings: Student volunteers in Chicago help set up National Kidney Foundation screening events and work with nephrologists to answer questions brought in by community members

    Overdose Prevention and Intervention: NLVS student volunteers worked with UI Health's the Community Outreach Intervention Project (COIP) to host health education sessions on opioid overdose; students were also trained on Narcan's role in response to acute overdose.

  • Global Health Trips

    Pre-med, Pre-health, and Medical students embark on service trips around the globe to get hands on experience in rural/global healthcare and promote self-sustaining local health outcomes.

  • Food/Hygene kit Donations

    NLVS chapters partner with a number of communtiy organizations to donate or prepare food, hygiene supplies, and other essentials for those in need.
    Our UWM chapter contributes sandiwches to StreetLife Communities, a local street-medicine organization which provides food and medical care to people throughout the Milwaukee area.
